Qatar Triathlon Federation Hosts World Triathlon Executive Board Meeting Alongside T100 Doha
The Qatar Triathlon Federation hosted a meeting of the Executive Board of World Triathlon as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation and support Qatar’s bid to host major global championships. The meeting was held on 13–14 December 2025, coinciding with the T100 Doha race.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Eng. Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Tamimi, President of the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation, and Ms Fatima Issa Al Ghanem, Assistant Secretary-General. In his opening remarks, the Federation President welcomed the Executive Board members, reaffirming the State of Qatar’s commitment to supporting and developing triathlon at both regional and international levels.
During their visit to Doha, Executive Board members conducted site visits to key venues and followed the progress of the T100 race, gaining first-hand insight into the high level of preparedness and the outstanding organisational standards delivered by Qatar. These efforts further strengthen the country’s prospects of hosting future international championships and events.
For his part, Mr Antonio Arimany, President of World Triathlon, praised the warm hospitality and excellent organisation, expressing his appreciation to the Qatar Triathlon Federation for hosting the meeting in Doha. He also commended the high-quality organisation of the T100 race.
Meanwhile, His Highness Prince Fahad bin Jalawi Al Saud, President of the Asian Triathlon Confederation, noted that hosting this event—particularly the T100 Triathlon World Championship Final—represents a significant milestone for the sport of triathlon across the region. He highlighted that this success directly contributed to the approval of staging the championship next year in more than one Gulf Cooperation Council country, while affirming that triathlon has witnessed remarkable and sustained growth across the Arab and Asian regions in recent years.
