Abdulaziz Al Tamimi elected as President of the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation

The General Assembly of the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation elected Eng. Abdulaziz Saud Al Tamimi as President of the Federation for the new session 2024-2028. This came during the Ordinary General Assembly meeting of the Federation, which was held at the headquarters of the Qatar Olympic Committee yesterday evening, Monday, the twenty-fifth of November, for the upcoming Olympic session.

The General Assembly of the Federation also elected the members of the Board of Directors, Mr. Abdullah Shaheen Al Kaabi, Mr. Ahmed Hamad Al Binali, Mr. Abdullah Muhammad Al Menhali, and Ms. Fatima Issa Al Ghanim, to the membership of the Federation’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Mohammed bin Jaham Al Kuwari, the former President of the Federation, began his speech by welcoming the members of the General Assembly and reviewed the agenda of the meeting and the items discussed during the conference, as well as reviewed the Federation’s progress during the Olympic session that will end this year. In turn, he gave the floor to His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Thani, who welcomed the attendees, and His Excellency reviewed the Federation’s progress since its establishment.

In his speech, Eng. Abdulaziz Saud Al Tamimi expressed his thanks and gratitude to the General Assembly and the Qatar Olympic Committee for the trust they have placed in him to lead the Federation. He also congratulated the newly elected members, wishing them success in their mission to serve Qatari sports.

The members of the General Assembly also approved the minutes of the previous meeting, which were reviewed by Eng. Thani Khalifa Al Zaraa and a number of reports were reviewed on the activities witnessed during the past period and the future projects of the Federation, in addition to the financial statements for the past year.

Following the conclusion of the General Assembly meeting, the members of the Federation's Board of Directors held their first meeting, headed by Eng. Abdulaziz Saud Al Tamimi - President of the Federation. He welcomed the new members of the Board of Directors and elected Mr. Abdullah Shaheen Al Kaabi - General Secretary, and Ms. Fatima Issa Al Ghanim - Assistant Secretary. The President of the Federation reviewed the future plan for the coming period and discussed the tasks and challenges that are placed on their shoulders to raise the Federation's flag in the upcoming events, wishing everyone success during the coming period.
