2025 Asian Triathlon Union General Assembly Meeting in Hong Kong
The 33rd Asian Triathlon Union General Assembly was held in Hong Kong on the sidelines of the Asian Triathlon Sprint Championship on the 7th of this month. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Eng. Abdulaziz Al Tamimi, President of the Qatar Triathlon Federation, Mr. Abdullah Al Kaabi, Secretary General, and Ms. Fatima Al Ghanim, Assistant Secretary General, representing the Qatar Triathlon Federation.
Members of the Asian Triathlon Union Board of Directors, chaired by His Highness Prince Fahad bin Jalawi Al Saud, attended the meeting. The President of the International Triathlon Union, Mr. Antonio Arimani, his Vice President, Mr. Shane Ochuka, and the Director of Federation Development, Ms. Zita Shoviliak, along with representatives of 28 sports federations from across the continent, were also in attendance.
Asian Triathlon Federation Board Elections
During the meeting, new elections were held for the Asian Triathlon Federation Board of Directors. Mr. Abdullah Shaheen Al Kaabi, representing the State of Qatar, won a seat on the Asian Triathlon Federation's Executive Committee, reflecting the confidence of the association's members in Qatari leadership.
Meeting with the President of the International Triathlon Union
On the sidelines of the meeting, Engineer Abdulaziz Al Tamimi and Mr. Abdullah Al Kaabi met with His Excellency the President of the International Triathlon Federation and Ms. Zita Shoviljak, Director of Federation Development. The meeting discussed enhancing cooperation, continuing the ongoing development of the Qatar Triathlon Federation, and enhancing the level of triathlon in the region.
This approach reflects the Qatar Triathlon Federation's commitment to the continuous development of the sport and raising the level of competition at the Asian and international levels. This indicates the significant progress achieved by the Qatar Triathlon Federation in international forums and reflects the State of Qatar's prominent role in enhancing the status of Asian and international sports.
